MINISTRY BACKGROUND
QUEST is the name of our youth program at Mission Springs. It is designed to reach Middle School and Senior High teens. As the name suggests, we believe that there is a hunger in youth today for meaning and true fulfillment in life. The teen years are full of challenges, both positive and negative:
- It can be exciting,
- It can be downright scary,
- It can be a time where limits are pushed to the edge, or
- It can be a time of tremendous pain...
- Or it may be all of those!
WHAT DOES THIS MINISTRY DO?
The purpose of QUEST is to meet these challenges head on and to offer a close relationship with Jesus as the way to thrive during the teen years. Quest leaders strive to model Jesus' unconditional love and to build trusted friendships with the teens. We encourage teens to follow Jesus, instead of their peer crowd. We provide fun and crazy programs so kids can say, "I didn't know church could be so fun!" We challenge the youth spiritually so they can grow and mature. We provide opportunities for teens to stretch themselves, like working together to build a house for a needy family or working with children in summer programs. Jr. Quest (6th-8th grade) and Sr. Quest (9th-12th grade) meet Wednesday nights 7:00PM-8:30PM and on Sunday mornings during the service. There are periodic special events, as well as times for hanging out together. During summer, teens are encouraged to spend a week at Woodleaf (High School) or Wyldlife (Middle School) Young Life camps.
