Several years ago God opened a unique door of ministry to a group in our TriCity area that exists somewhat under the radar. The Deaf community in Fremont is one of the largest in the nation, with a resident school for Deaf children and a nationally recognized Deaf studies program at Ohlone College. From the beginning, we have had a commitment to make MSCC a place for equal access to the Deaf. We seek to make as many services, events, activities and ministries available to the Deaf as well as hearing. All worship services are signed in ASL and ASL interpreted. As a result we have a growing integrated ministry where hearing and Deaf mingle and fellowship together. One of the unique aspects of this emphasis is that blended Deaf/hearing families feel like they have found a home where all can grow in their faith.
Pastor David Fair is our Pastor to the Deaf, and he and his wife are raising a blended hearing/Deaf family as well. He oversees a steadily growing number of ministries that include the following:
We strongly encourage each Deaf member or attender to participate in the different MSCC ministries and committees. Interpreters can be provided upon need or request.
