Missions & Outreach

Individuals are encouraged to use their "time, talents and treasures" to serve people in need.  The missions budget includes funds to help individuals within the church participate in ministry opportunities.

MSCC is committed to reaching out to others.

As a whole church body, we partner with various non-profit organizations both locally and internationally, providing funding and volunteers.

Local Missions

CityServe is a coalition churches that partner together to be the Body of Christ in Fremont, Newark and Union City.  CityServe includes the Pastors Network, Youth Pastors Network, Intercessory Prayer and Compassion Network). Compassion Network links volunteers from the different congregations with those in need in our community. MSCCers have participated with individual needs and with Thanksgiving turkey boxes, Tree of Hope Christmas gifts and Make A Difference Day projects. www.cityserve.org / www.compassionnetwork.org

Tri-City Young Life is an outreach ministry to Jr. High and High School youth with the goal of building friendships and investing in the lives of youth who are outside the church in order to earn the opportunity to introduce them to Jesus.  Young Life offers weekly programs and summer and winter camps. FunLife (Capernaum ministry) serves youth and young adults with special needs.  Through our many-year relationship with Tri-City Young Life, youth have attended both programs; MSCCers have volunteered at the annual Christmas Tree Lot Fundraiser, and MSCC has partnered with YL and been host to the JoyProm for special needs teens and young adults. www.tri-city.younglife.org

The One-Eighty youth programs are dedicated to helping at-risk youth and families in Lodi make a 180 degree change toward thriving physically, emotionally and spiritually. The One-Eighty partners with community organizations to provide counseling, gang prevention, and homework assistance.

The One-Eighty Mobile Unit is the One-Eighty Teen Center on wheels. The Internet-equipped, cafe-stocked, scooter shop goes wherever the community needs another set of eyes and ears. It primarily makes its way to a local skate park known for delinquent behavior.  Former MSCCer, Sean Campbell is the Coordinator of the mobile unit. www.180lodi.org

International Missions

Young Life Russia/Former Soviet Union’s mission is to raise up a generation of leaders in Russia and the Former Soviet Union who are known for their love for Jesus Christ and their love for kids, so that every young person has the opportunity to meet Jesus, have a transformed life, grow into maturity and assume a position of leadership in society. The ministry was started in 1992 in Moscow and now spans 16 countries and 11 time zones.  The Capernaum ministry which serves children and teens with special needs is one of YL Russia /FSU’s fastest growing ministries. www.russiafsu.younglife.org

In 1964, Pastor Sergio Gomez went to Tijuana with a vision to help those in need and to make Christ known. In 1965 he co-founded an orphanage and later founded Baja Vision Ministries, which has aided orphans, street kids, battered women, homeless families, mentally disabled persons, and the terminally ill, many of whom may otherwise be abandoned to the streets. MSCC does annual housebuilding trips through Baja Vision.   www.tjkids.org

PathLight International’s mission is to serve children at risk in Belize by providing educational opportunities which integrate faith and learning in order to break the intergenerational cycles of poverty. This is achieved through student sponsorships, teacher training workshops, teacher placements in under-resourced communities, and short-term service projects. MSCCers have worked on construction projects at local schools and assisted with teacher training programs. MSCCers Mark and Adrienne Parcher are co-founders of PathLight.  www.pathlight.org
